How much water are you supposed to drink everyday?

I know the average is 8 glasses a day...but I remember seeing a formula using your weight to determine how much water you should drink to hydrate your body and promote weight loss? Anyone know this formula?

NOTE: Please do not answer 8 glasses I really am looking for the formula.

The amount of OZ = to your body weight in KG.

So if you weight 140 lbs, divide that by 2.2 to get the equivalent KG amount--which is 64 KG.

Divide that by 8oz (a cup) to get the amounts of cups of water you need.

So that means if you are 140lbs (64 kg), you need 64 oz of water a day. 64 divided by 8 is 8. So 8 cups of water for a 140 lb person.

(p.s. the answer here came out to 8 cups by coincidence. If you weight more than 140, you'd need more than 8 cups of water a day).
