Running, what's your opinion on it?

Started training to run a 1/2 marathon in september...Some people say running is the best way to get in shape..some say it's really not good for you...your opinions please?

If you have healthy knees and joint, and you're not too overweight running is an excellent workout. Make sure you buy good running shoes, to protect your joints. Really overweight people should start powerwalking before they start running, to make sure they don't put too much strain on their hear. As long as you start slowly, and protect your joints (and wear a good supportive bra, if you're female) running is very good for you.
