why are doctors still writing out prescription cards in a way that nurses can not read, surly they should be made to use block capilals or have them printed. How many people have to die unnecessarily

I was told by a physician that the reason that doctors write the way they do is because the hide their bad spelling. I hope that he was joking........You are right about illegible handwriting it remains a serious problem and contributes to medical errors. In some hospitals, physicians are required to print their order's, notes and prescriptions.
